A wall of wine on shelves next to a tiger painting and potted plant

In The Loup - March 2018

In the era of Time’s Up, any small gesture can make a huge difference: buying your wine at Vinovore is one of them. Owned by Coly Deen Haan (wine pioneer and one of the first female somms LA) and Dean Harada (successful developer, also in charge of Jewel right next door), Vinovore stocks exclusively female winemakers — and a lot of organic, biodynamic and natural wines at a very reasonable price.

The large chart on the wall aims to demystify wine shopping: find the answer to “What Kind of Vinovore Are You?” and you will discover bottles that match your Zodiac-style wino spirit animal. The entire store is very tongue-in-cheek, with notes like “won’t you take me to Funky Town” on a bottle of Domaine Oudin, a huge Zoltar statue, as well as care packages with hand-chosen wines, retro gifts and pocket-size decanters. Rumor has it that a thoughtfully curated bookshop will follow, as well as gourmet bites, and frankly we cannot wait to see what the future holds for this tiny and lovely revolutionary wine shop called Vinovore.
